My professional photography business began after graduating from California State University, Long Beach. Up to that point, I ran a successful professional copy work business in which I photographed artwork for collectors and students (I still run this business). But upon graduating with a degree in English Rhetoric and Composition, I ventured out and decided that I would create a larger business around photography, which was what I already loved to practice.
At the time, I had a firm grasp of the fundamentals of photography, but that was when I decided that in order to create professional and stylistic imagery, I needed begin to understand the art of lighting. For a full year, I studied nothing but professional lighting.
With that under my belt, I continued on and began my professional portraiture business. Currently, I run both my portraiture and copy work businesses. Although, my portraiture business has branched into the areas of business portraits/headshots, family portraits, couples portraits, and engagements.
